Agatchu’s new single “Chance” is the sweetest whisper in the wind, intimate, deliberate, and impossible to ignore. Preparing his sophomore EP, which is expected to arrive this summer through established French indie label Play Two, the French Angolan artist and producer delivers on “Chance,” a mood-setter and a mission statement in one.
Recorded between Lisbon and Paris, “Chance” is the type of track that feels lived in a twilight slowly descending upon cobblestone streets. It’s a subtle nod to Agatchu’s Afro-Lusophone heritage, with the rhythm and soul of Angola gently blended with the soft brushstrokes of Brazilian bossa nova. The result is rich yet unforced, cinematic, and deeply personal.
“Chance” is driven by a late-night, guitar-loop spartan, spellbinding track that serves as a canvas for subtle percussion, ambient textures, and an elusive frame of harmonies.
