Toronto-based musician Raquel has released her new song “LA LA LA”, featuring rapper NLA Choppa.
Released as part of the run-up to her second EP, Raquel has been making waves in the Toronto music scene ever since she was discovered at a runway show in 2023. A classically trained pianist and singer-songwriter, Raquel has already worked with a number of big voices on the Toronto scene and opened for R&B star Eric Bellinger.
A slick blend of pop, hip-hop and dance and written during a late-night session last summer, “LA LA LA” is Raquel bottling and selling the “essence of celebration, freedom and connection” – particularly the excitement of going on a glittering night out with friends.
An interpolation of ATC’s “Around The World (La La La La La)”, Raquel’s warm, silky vocals mix with NLA Choppa’s energetic delivery on the track to create a summer filled, fun, bouncy pop hit that deserves to be on repeat.
Alongside the track, the music video for “LA LA LA” is a glamorous affair, put together by Raquel’s creative team at Abstract Studios. Featuring glitzy costumes that show off Raquel’s high-fashion flair, choreographed dances, club scenes and custom Lamborghinis, it’s a true encapsulation of the ephemeral party buzz of a hot summer night partying.
