Dresden's Purple Disco Machine is hitting the ground hard since the release of his all-time classic in the making, "Dished (Male Stripper)." That includes his latest double sided EP release, Emotion.
The EP's title track pays homage to its roots and is pure disco that's so smooth, it breathes the effortlessness with which it was made. Its Giorgio Moroder-style cadence is no accident either, employing a classic sample from the 1974 disco track from the namesake The Emotions entitled "I Don't Want To Lose Your Love." Finding a great sample and using it well makes or breaks a track, and this is well executed and ready to spin. "Up & Down" features a different call upon the disco era: the vocoder.
Emotion out now via Club Sweat and streaming via all DSPs.
