Tacocat promotes self-love in new track “Grains of Salt” [Video]

Celebrate making it through the week by jamming out to Tacocat’s new track “Grains of Salt,” in which the Seattle-based punk band promotes self-love and posi-vibes. As a female-fronted punk band, they’ve always been known to address feminist and human rights issues in many of their songs through sarcasric and creative lyrics. “Grains of Salt” is no different, and one of the most fun and fanciful songs we’ve heard this year.

The music video only gets infinitely more fierce, featuring a group of Seattle drag performers dancing around in a bright, white room. The band tweeted, “When we were making this video, the director described the concept as ‘Spice Girls and cybersex’ in the initial mood board.” Sounds like our kind of party!

Tacocat has been around since 2007, but the band is now amping up with Sub Pop Records for some very big and new things. “Grains of Salt” comes as the first single preceding their debut album This Mess is a Place coming out on May 3rd, 2019. The band will also be touring the US after the album release throughout the months of May and June.
