Known as the “little brother" to Drumcode,  Adam Beyer’s other Swedish imprint Truesoul has been no less influential to the growth across the full spectrum of techno and tech house in the 15 years since its inception. Next month, Beyer is releasing a four track EP showcasing some of the outstanding tracks of the year that have all been tested within Adam Beyer’s own sets. For the various artist EP, Truesoul tapped the likes of Belgian’s Ramon Tapia, Manchester duo OC & Verde and Italian producer Veerus, Spanish producer Marc Marzenit, and Southhampton’s own Ronnie Spiteri.

For the opening track, “Hexagon,” Ramon Tapia sets the tone of the EP with an energetic techno and tech house track that continually builds layer by layer towards a solid finish. With the second track, “Naaki,” OC & Verde + Veerus keep the energy going with a sound one would find at place on Drumcode and features what the imprint labels a “rousing call-to-arms vocal” that certainly sets it above the rest. “Take My Life” stands out on the EP as it’s the only vocal led track in a genre where that is already rare. Even so, Marc Marzenit is able to keep the track plowing forward with a strong percussion and driving beat. Ronnie Spiteri’s “Sugar Lips” rounds out the EP with a wide, weighty tech house track saturated with just enough soul influences to make it sound at home in either house or techno.

This is definitely one EP you won’t want to miss. Pick it up when it drops December 18th on Truesoul.
