Tycho's latest album, Awake, isn't exactly recent at this point, but we've seen a number of great remixes in its wake. Fellow Ghostly International artists Com Truise, Christopher Willits, and Beacon were among the first to rework Scott Hansen's tracks, and last month we saw Vampire Weekend's Baio take a stab at "Plains." Now RJD2 has graced us with a new version of "Apogee," and so far it's the highlight of the bunch, starting with simple guitar and rolling snare before unfurling into something equal parts funky and beautiful.
The good news is that all the Awake remixes will be released as a collection, available digitally on January 20. The bad news is that the physical release won't be until May, so sit tight. It'll be worth the wait – Bibio, Dusty Brown, Nitemoves, and Few Nolder also contribute. Tycho is set to hit the road soon for a DJ tour, check out the remix, album tracklist, and tour dates below.
