Originally one part of the pop duo Peter & Kerry, Peter Lyons has since focused on a solo career of experimental, dream inducing proportions. Pulling from what seems to be an endless stream of forward minded ideas, Peter has set himself apart in his ability to congeal enigmatic background instrumentals into evolving soundscapes that strangely support his charming vocals with ease. His newest song, "Envy" is a perfect example of many offbeat elements forming a cohesive, and even mellow, song.
As the second single released off of his forthcoming debut EP, "Envy" is a natural progression from the well-received March release of “Leave Me”. While "Envy" takes a bit of time to fully come into its own, patient listeners will be rewarded accordingly with dense, shifting beats and breaths of soothing string harmonies carefully placed into the mix. Altogether, “Leave Me” and "Envy" are but icing on the dense cake of what can be expected from Peter's evolving pallet in the future.
