Just over six months have passed since our debut post on Riddim Commission, one which saw the London-based duo remix another British artist, Linden Jay, and his track "Be Like You". As last summer turned to fall, the two embarked on a new adventure in the form of their WWYS (Why Would You Stop) EP, featuring the original track with Eve and four outstanding remixes. Now the pair of electronic artists retake the scene, this time preparing to drop the 4-track Full Metal Jacker EP via Bullet Train Records at the end of this month. The release acts a prelude to Riddim Commission's debut album, We Ain't Gonna Stop, which will be available in May and sees friendly faces join its credits, like that of Italian electro aficianado Crookers and prodigious English artist Sinden.
Going back to Full Metal Jacker, the EP spans the title track, along with "Donky", "Do Ur Thing", and the Missy Elliott flip, "Work Me". Though each song hit a certain chord, the release's namesake grabbed our attention with choppy melodies and snappy, interlacing drum loops that made for a gritty house work.
