The airwaves of Chicago have been dominated by the sound of drill music for sometime now. For those of you who may not be familiar with the genre, I encourage you to educate yourself by checking out King Louie's "B.O.N.", which is Chicago's drill anthem of the now. Besides King Louie, some of the leading drill stars of Chicago consist of Lil Durk, Lil Bibby, Chief Keef, and Fredo Santana. Chicago producer Lucas G, who in the past has produced for one of Chicago's leading women of drill music Sasha Go Hard, recently released a distinct, genre-blending remix of Santana's biggest drill track to-date "F**K The Other Side".
For his remix of "F**k The Other Side, Lucas G strips select vocals of Santana from the original track and creates a gorgeous, instrumental-rich soundscape that surprisingly coincides perfectly with the Savage Squad rapper's flow. I would describe the track as the perfect balance of drill and classical rock elements, with sub-rattling 808 drums and a lush guitar riff that would make any classic rock lover nod their head to in approval.
It's been quite some time since I've heard such a drastic rendition of a track, like the Chicago producer composes on his remix of Santana's drill anthem. I never thought I would say this but if I were to show my father, who is a lover of classic rock and avid hater of anything rap related, I think this remix would get his stamp of approval. I compel you to listen to Lucas G's remix below because I assure you that you have not heard any remix like it before.
