RAC's "Repeating Motion" is just the summer warmth you need

During what CBS News is now calling a “potentially catastrophic, historic storm,” the eastern seaboard sits defeated, accepting another beating of snow, ice & rain. At this point, it’s easy to feel weary of an already endless winter. And what’s worse for us music lovers is it’s been increasingly easy to feel weary of the storms of sad singles and wannabe tracks that puddle around us and freeze over like patches of black ice mediocrity. Thankfully, every so often we get a burst of warm, effervescent sound that restores our faith in the future of music. This time we get the comfort we need from one of the most skilled, influential composer & producers we’ve seen in a long time: RAC.

André Allen Anjos, or our sunny sound remedy known as RAC, was born and raised in Portugal but settled in Portland, developing his bohemian indie-pop style just for us sad soggy listeners to find joy in. His most recent release “Repeating Motion”, off his upcoming 2-part album Strangers, is a genuine breath of summer air. Upon first listen, you’ll be addicted to a fresh combo of synths, piano keys and guitar chords. The accompaniment feels like your favorite pair of flip-flops: perfectly fitting, open and freeing. Not to mention stirring vocals from long-time friend Karl Kling and a strong set of lyrics, nailing what it’s like to be a young “adult”: disoriented yet having the choice to move on and break free from the typical cycles we live through. The song feels like a crossroads, a fun combination of fading memories and optimism about what’s to come. So, let's make the best of this and prepare for spring? A New Yorker can hope….

Strangers Part 1 will be released March 4th and Strangers Part 2 will be released April 1st.  That same day the complete collection of 16 tracks will be released digitally, on CD and vinyl. RAC will hit the road this month for the “Strangers Live” world tour, which includes shows at SXSW and at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami. Click the link for all tour dates: https://rac.fm/tour
