Mt. Kili is the musical project led by Asheville singer-songwriter Rick Sichta, and "The Noticer," their second album, further develops the band's identity and enriches its sound with more rock and folk-oriented harmony. recorded at Asheville's Echo Mountain Studio, it features a modest production room that captures raw emotion and clarity.

Engineered by Grammy Award winner Julian Dreyer and mastered by Grammy winner David Glasser at Airshow Mastering, the sound quality is so clear that each instrument blends well into the mix. Mt. Kili weaves together an entire experience that traverses various emotional landscapes with seamless ease. Songs like "Don't Start a War," "The Rain Song," and "Scars" exemplify the band's ability to combine profound lyrics with upbeat instrumentation. The music sounds richer thanks to Laney Barnett's violin, and drummer Matt Shepard keeps the beat solid throughout.

The songs on the record are intentionally sequenced in such a way that they create an arc for the project that is each specific and general. In turn, precise production and emotional depth make "The Noticer" sound like a self-assured band with a clarity of vision still on the rise. The Noticer is the first stop for anyone interested in indie rock album reviews, new music from Asheville, or a smart discussion of well-crafted sophomore records.

Mt. Kili fits right at home in the current indie rock and indie folk landscape, as exemplified by "The Noticer," whilst combining atmospheric textures with songwriting. "The Noticer" is a top-notch album that places Mt. Kili on the map for international audiences discovering new indie music and stories about alternative rock.
