After a period of reflection, contemplation, and healing, Reason closed out 2024 by returning to what he does best—embracing his creativity.

Following his announcement of leaving Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) after 7 years, Reason closed out the year, releasing a handful of singles and two-packs, including “I Thought You Loved Me” featuring Cozz & Buddy and “Stuck” featuring Oswin Benjamin.

After a string of singles setting the tone for an eventful 2025, former TDE signee Reason has announced his new project, I Love You Again, set to drop on February 28th. Alongside the announcement, he’s released the project’s first single, “Not What You Think,” featuring Bas.

Speaking on the single, Reason shares, “‘Not What You Think’ was a cadence and bounce I came up with right after splitting with TDE. I had no words. I just knew I wanted the bounce to be in a certain pocket, and I wanted to speak on situations where artists/entertainers aren’t always what the public thinks they are.

Further elaborating, Reason shared, “Me and Bas had a convo a long time ago at the Revenge of the Dreamers III (ROTD3) sessions on a similar topic.  So, after writing the verse and hook, it only felt right to hit my dawg up and he killed it as usual. Extremely proud of how everything came together, so shout out to everyone involved.”

Stay tuned for Reason’s upcoming project, I Love You Again, with a joint project with Dreamville’s Cozz also in the works. In the meantime, be sure to stream “Not What You Think” on all major platforms.
