Hailing from the Central Coast, Australia, indie pop band The Moving Stills have just unveiled their sophomore album, Wabi Sabi. The 10-track release encompasses the ins and outs of the last few years for the band, covering everything in their personal lives such as life on the road during tours, heartbreak, blossoming love, and the importance of surrounding yourself with friends and family who embellish your life. The new album showcases some of the band's most honest work to date, as they peel back layers to reveal a more vulnerable side of themselves.

Wabi Sabi stays true to the band's loved sound which can be heard on their debut album, Sunshine Corner, while adding fresh new flavors and delving deeper into their emotions. The band share, “We wanted to keep the honesty there on this album, and write about our experiences and so we’ve been very open in expressing our feelings in these songs.”

The vibey “In Your City” tells a tale of the band's experiences with their tour van. Mikey shares, “In your City tells the tale of long drives in the tour van and playing shows which lead to late nights catching up with friends… then getting in the car and doing it the next night in the next city.” Emitting a celestial atmosphere, this track features soaring harmonies and a playful melody, underpinned by a reggae-style beat.

The term ‘Wabi-sabi’ originates from Japan and describes the beauty of things imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete. The wholesome album is certain to warm your heart, get you moving and put a smile on your face.
