Newcastle act TV Death offers a powerful combination of post punk and horror pop on “Village Mentality,” taken from their upcoming EP The God, The One and The Devil. A bouncy yet bold rumination on the blind belief over everything we see in the media, the track is rooted in their signature sharp abrasiveness.

Following the narrative of a hateful news cycles as the villagers wake up to eagerly point their finger after seeing the headlines, the track describes the influence of media on the public’s opinion, painting select groups of people as the root of their problems, scapegoating societal groups and distracting their audiences from the real cause.

The track is accompanied by cinematic and metaphor-laden visuals that unfold as the main character is chased through the woods by an angry mob, holding up a mirror to the effect of the media on society in a comical and exaggerated fashion.

Having emerged as a potent act who combined anthemic garage rock with dark lyrics, TV Death prove themselves to be an act to worth watching out for as they gear up for their most ambitious project to date.
