NY-based confessional indie pop singer/songwriter Taylor Mecca has just shared her latest emotive single. Called "Growing Up Sucks", the track is the first taste of her upcoming highly anticipated EP sidelines.

With "Growing Up Sucks", Taylor Mecca details a coming of age story and one that is not always pleasant. Feelings of impatience, frustration, comparison, anxiety, and stagnancy often accompany the transition from teenager to young adult and with "Growing Up Sucks", Taylor Mecca has succeeded in crafting a cathartic release highlighting this important life change and the many emotions that often accompany it. Lyrics including "is it worth it / and the tooth fairy don't take my insurance / tough love and paystubs / I'm a little bit worried / I'm letting myself down," show the trepidation, hardships and responsibilities that come with getting older. Musically, "Growing Up Sucks" features Mecca's signature honey-laced vocals over folk laden acoustic guitars and lush strings. Her raw and emotional blanketed melodies are a highlight in this deeply charming track.

Taylor Mecca is a young artist who hails from New York. The musician and singer/songwriter has made a name for herself with her authentic musical releases and fun-loving personality which attracts millions on her TIKTOK. Working with acclaimed producers Griff Clawson, Jack Price, Tiger Darrow, and Aaron Brohman, Taylor Mecca is set to make her mark with her debut EP.
