British artist AlienBlaze has teamed up with American rapper OmenXIII for her latest single, “Lovesick.” The new release sees AlienBlaze exploring a new hybrid world of rock meets rap, emphasizing her love for creating genre-fluid anthems. Typically keeping within the alternative pop, grunge, emo and rock realm, the addition of OmenXIII’s rap lines result in a unique amalgamation.
With a dominating presence and angsty appeal “Lovesick” touches on the everyday experiences of a young adult, as well as more poetic themes, as the songwriter delves into topics including pathetic fallacy and imagery from nature.
Produced by Kid Brunswick and mixed by Muse’s Dan Lancaster, "Lovesick" is a powerful and intense song that features distorted guitars that wail with emotion and energy. Accompanied by pounding, clashing percussion, AlienBlaze has concocted a powerful sonic landscape that is both aggressive and captivating. AlienBlaze shares, “I always wanted Lovesick to be a tortured love song, but it actually works even better as a duet. I just love what OmenXIII has done with his verse and I think our two styles actually give the song an extra intensity.”
