Indie-pop artist Rumia delivers melancholic debut album Forget Me Not, a deeply intimate pop collection spanning themes of innocence, longing and heartbreak all pulled together from the emerging talent’s own experiences.

Opening with “Tango,” which traces a relationship long past, the album focuses on tales of first love and childhood dreams rooted in her vulnerability and honesty, finishing off on “Simone,” which continues the childhood theme with a deep dive into a nightmare she had when she was young.

In between, are the ruminations about her youth on “If I Ever See You Again,” and dreamy and cinematic feel of “The Best Lines,” delving into heartbreak. Throughout the album, Rumia doesn’t hold back whether it be on her heart-on-sleeve song writing or her delicately balanced soundscapes built on gentle beats and ethereal guitars.

Infused with youthful charm and musical maturity alike, this latest album sets Rumia up as an act to watch in the indie-pop scene.
