New York artist she loves boon has shared a new album called emotional trap. A genre-bending artist whose colorful sound combines influences from hyperpop, alt-pop, indie, hip-hop, and more, boon's latest full-length project follows up a prolific burst of single releases including infectious tracks like "i just wanna dance" and "punk rock." The album presents a versatile, addictive set of 12 tracks that feel engagingly progressive throughout.

The album opens with "honest", a track that contains glowing, expansive sonics tinged with hyperpop stylings. Bright and infectious, "honest"'s warm, watery keys and deep 808s make for a stylish backdrop for boon's catchy melodies. "everything ab u" follows next, continuing the album's vibrant, textural aesthetics with pillowy 808s and sparkling synths somewhat reminiscent of a retro arcade or video game soundtrack. Songs like "worthless" slow down the pace and introduce a more subdued, melancholic sound from boon, showcasing his versatility. "Feel the Feeling" introduces influences from drum-and-bass in an engaging, cohesive fashion, while closer " i just wanna dance" finishes the album on a euphoric note with a swirling, psychedelic soundscape.

emotional trap presents a colorful sonic journey through the mind of she loves boon, flirting with a variety of genres such as hyperpop, electronica, indie, and more, that keep the listener on their toes throughout.
