Ever since the 2017-2018 rap group/ boy band renaissance of Brockhampton-inspired collectives has been popping up near and far, there has been a quest to recreate the gravitational aura of a left-of-center clique that can do it all.  It's hard to argue against any group 'doing it all' right now better than grouptherapy., whose inimitable style and panache have made them into must-watch TV since they got their start in late 2019. Their new release "Big Steppa" is less of a posse cut, but still functions as a vivid snapshot of one of the most exciting groups out right now.

Comprised of TJOnline, SWIM, and Jadagrace, grouptherapy. are capable of delivering raucous, roof-raising bangers, just as much as they can provide the alternative R&B vibes that are increasingly in-demand in a post Gemini Rights-world.  The group formed after the 3 members connected coming from backgrounds as child actors and bonding over this uniquely shared perspective through music therapy, and grew into today's budding supergroup that is just beginning to hit their stride.

"Big Steppa" is definitively a SWIM track (following last single "Sweet" which served as TJOnline's personal showcase), and utilizes a Pharrell-esque beat (produced by Pilot Kid, 8een, Yogic, and Stoic Beats) for an alt-hip-hop gem.  Focusing on the theme of being unafraid to step on toes that come between him and accomplishing his goals, SWIM emits a unique and quirky energy that adds to the infectiousness of the track.

When each member of a collective brings so much unique flavor, it can be necessary to find some singles where each artist can be completely and unapologetically themselves.  SWIM finds this confidence on "Big Steppa" and further cements the trio as a force to be reckoned with among any collectives making music right now.
