Legendary NY producer/rapper Diamond D brings his dope new single, “Inertia,” to life in this stylish animated video that showcases his incredible talents as both an emcee and a producer. The self-produced record has a solemn and somewhat gloomy feel that lends its strengths to Diamond D's retrospective lyrics that dwell on a myriad of real-time topics. As an elder statesman, he imparts some of his experiences and knowledge on the mic, imploring listeners to take a step back and smell the roses and also reminds us that he is still not the one to play with.

The video is animated by New Zealand artist Jono Hislop, who closely follows the lyrics delivered by the Bronx hip-hop legend. It allows the viewer to get a closer look at the intricacy and fluidity of his words and flow, which includes some clever wordplay, snarling punchlines, and sharp insights into how he views the world today.

“Inertia” is the lead single from D’s forthcoming new album, The Rear View, that will showcase exactly why he’s considered the best producer on the mic. The LP includes additional production from the likes of Nottz, Focus, D.R.U.G.S., and Mr. Brady as well as features from Westside Gunn, Posdnuos, Pharoahe Monch, Dre, Ashtin Martin, and KP.
