Rancid Eddie can recognize when love has become “Dry”

Rancid Eddie comes to terms with a partnership that has gone south in their new single titled “Dry”.  The laid-back tune features breezy guitars and tight drums creating the ideal easy listen. The song’s cheerful backdrop is juxtaposed with the offering’s message. Their tongue and cheek lyrics also evoke a carefree, playfulness. “Our kiss has lost all of their tongue/ It's such a struggle just to cum anymore.” The accompanying video keeps that happy-go-lucky air going. Displaying clips of everyone who used the song on their TikTok, you instantly get those feel-good vibes.

Five friends from Melbourne, Australia make up this infectious indie-pop outfit. The group is comprised of Jessy Kelly and Matt Sturrock on lead vocals/guitar, Ash Ravlic on bass, Andy Sturrock on drums, and namesake Eddie O’Brien on keys. After high school ended the friends were scared they would drift apart. They started this band as a way to stay together. You can really get the sense of the tight bond within their releases. Not only do they have such strong ties to one another, but they also have a deep connection with their fans. The way they incorporated them into their visual piece makes that apparent.

This band has been publically outed as making sexist racist and homophobic comments. This song came from a jam sesh where women were called c*m rags and sluts. They said basically words along the lines of “you guys are so precious but we aren’t misogynistic” on Instagram. Then was defensive when called out on the bad apology. During that time more screenshots circulated of the terrible shit Rancid Eddie were saying. It sounds so bad it couldn’t be true. But this is it. This is a huge huge problem in Australia. Still waiting on triple j, but their agent and a venue have dropped them so far. Please don’t let this be swept under the rug.

Why don't you attack real artists who are doing damage? Chris Brown a renowned woman beater, one four who bashed a group of people at McDonald's. But oh no an upcoming Aussie band said some words as banter and suddenly they've commited genocide. Grow up
