Texas fivesome Sarah and the Sundays share the whimiscal video for "Vices". It's taken from their forthcoming record The Living End, and promises an abundance of feelgood reflection, featuring Netflix's The 100 actress Eliza Taylor for the visuals of their new single.

"Vices" is a single that showcases the band's indie-rock prowess. Highlighting the band's search for their lost love, it's jangly indie guitars thrive in their native environment with the sluggish vocals provide a sleek haze whilst balancing the knowledge that someone who used to mean the world to you, is no longer a part of your life. It's this lyricism that shows a maturity to the band's songwriting, a quality that makes it relatable without the cliche. The visuals "follow a character throughout his journey to reconnect with a lost love," the band explain. "The song has many layers, so finding a narrative for the video was a thoughtful and exciting process."

Eliza Taylor (Clarke Griffin in The 100) also flexes her directing skills with this release. Her directorial debut, Taylor told us: "While lyrically Vices is a melancholy song about heartbreak, it has a cheerful and upbeat sound. We wanted to honor that juxtaposition in this video while telling a real story. We didn’t just want to make a music video, we wanted to make a short film about love lost and hope. I couldn’t be more thrilled with the finished product, especially with this being my directorial debut in the music space.”

Sarah and the Sundays are onto a soaring trajectory into indie goodness with this one, calling on the melancholic sounds of Drowners whilst also injecting their own stamp of intrique. We're predicting big things from this five piece, their sound is refreshing but also a friendly reminder of the soothing indie sounds we all can confide in from time to time. Like an old friend who knows exactly the right thing to say. Sarah and the Sundays are an exciting development in the indie sphere.
