UK indie emcee Abby Power brings the proverbial guns on her newest effort titled "SAVAGE." The track sees her working with the producer SamXVI who laces her with an ominous-sounding cinematic beat that's a far cry from her mellow soulful sounds. Backed by thick drill-inspired bass lines and crunchy drums, Power displays pure lyrical finesse and aggressiveness reminding listeners that she can also go that route like her male counterparts.
"SAVAGE" is just as the title says and more as Power redefines bravado on her terms with vivid lyrics ripe with witty punchlines and wordplay to match. We need to show respect to the producer SamXVI as well who helps create this outwardly sounding beat to showcase Power's versatility.
Abby Power started out as a spoken word act but took a hiatus from music to focus on other things in her life. She currently has two EPs Home is where the start is, and Class of ’94, both of which were produced by lo-fi hip-hop producer duo Frances, The Mute.
