UFO Fev and Vanderslice present the 'Enigma of Dalì,'

Inspired by the works of late surrealist artist Salvador Dalí, the duo of El Barrio emcee UFO Fev and Phoenixville, Pennsylvania-based producer Vanderslice present their latest body of work titled Enigma of Dalì. The work infuses the experimentalism of the last Spanish artist with hard-hitting soundscapes and vivid lyrical wordplay. Individually, the duo has been consistent with their music with UFO Fev dropping a treble made up of projects produced by Statik Selektah, Termanology, and Big Ghost Ltd, respectively. Vanderslice on the other hand is coming off the Trendsetter EP, which paired some of his dopest beats with the likes of G Perico and Ty Farris, among others,

The LP opens with an old interview clip introducing the enigmatic Salvador Dalí to a studio audience followed by the previously released single "Crack Shifts" which set the menacing tone for the rest of the project. The aptly titled "Moody Bass" is up next and starts with a thumping drum fill that morphs into a cinematic beat that is also nostalgia-inducing. UFO Fev is in rare form here and his articulate depiction of the variables that come with the street life is as vivid as they come. Far from glorifying it, he documents the situation with an unbiased view and the rest is up to the listener to interpret the message accordingly. On "Home Team" he reflects on what true loyalty looks like and the importance of being discrete at all times while "Scroll Music" is a tribute to his partners who held him down as they scheme their way through the opposition. Other standout cuts include the SmooVth assisted "Jazz Criminal" which sounds like a scene from a classic 70s gangster flick and the somber beat flipping "Pack Flip " featuring Red Infinite.

Enigma of Dalì is quite cohesive with the sound and quality of raps delivered by the duo. Vanderslice brings out a plethora of crispy, highly cinematic beats and pairs them perfectly with Fev's calm flow which is all tied up by a handful of interview clips of Salvador Dalí. The duo doesn't try to bog down listeners with overly pretentious elements as they cut to the chase with their straightforward approach made up of dope rhymes and dope beats.
