We start off this week's episode of The Slice on a very warm note courtesy of genre-fusing group Ocean Heights. Their latest single "Randy" is a nostalgic funk-disco-infused record that implores the listener not to wallow in their sorrows and maybe find happiness underneath a glowing disco-ball. Rapper Brain Child comes through with his heavy-hitting single "Boppin," a freestyle track that is ripe with layered glitchy vocals and punchy drums. Next up is Miggo who shares a lovelorn tale on "Confidence." Backed by a melancholic piano riff, he breaks down how he cut off a girl who was playing games with his heart but the ironic part is he still thinks about her from time to time.

Straight out of Houston comes Jidé, an emerging singer who is preparing to drop his debut album and shares an early teaser of what's to come with "10.14.95". He makes use of a dreamy but moody production as his backdrop and delivers an alluring performance that is ripe with smooth melodies. Vocalist Jenessa Andrea and producer Glasstempo team up for "Other Senses"—a heartwarming track that talks about finding love even after being hurt several times over.

Dale May and Lauren-Paige's collaboration "Feels" is a brilliant fusion of neo-soul and rap. Bolstered by a lush Rhodes arrangement, smooth horns, and soft drums, Dale May delivers uplifting lyrics as Lauren-Paige peppers it with her gripping melodic runs. We head straight to the land down under with the Australian trio Daste who switch up the mood with their new release "Moonrider"—an ethereal dreamy jam that thrives on breathy melodic vocals, warm textures, and a chilled bop.
Singer-songwriter Gabby Onme takes us on a reflective journey on "Ithinkiwannaridewithyou" where he talks about his past love while Australian-based trio KIDDGANG shares the R&B/emo-rap infused single "Good Guy." The song is the third official release for the South African-born siblings who are steadily building their rep.

South Jamaica Queens rapper Don Pablito comes through from the belly of the beast with the hard-hitting single "60k in the Bank." He takes us through the concrete jungle where the wrong move or word can lead to disastrous outcomes.

We close out this edition of The Slice with the help of singers Angelic Montero and Amira B who both drop classic R&B styled singles "Y U Wanna + You Get Me? " sees Montero interpolating the classic Tyrese song and gives it a whole new life with her sultry silky vocals while Amira B's smooth vibes on "Do It Right" takes us deep into a sensual moment to ease our troubles.
