Los Angeles-based, Australian electronic producer and vocalist KUČKA has returned with her second new single of 2020, titled "Ascension". The release continues to define KUČKA’s eerie brand of digital soul, while bringing together a slow mix of percussion-heavy R&B and electronica instrumentals (slow burning synth keys, eerie aesthetics of drum kicks). Yet all these notable elements still play second fiddle to her shining vocals throughout.
KUČKA additionally uses her new single as a platform to explore the continual growth that people are all undertaking at every stage of their lives. "We’re constantly faced with new challenges whether we realize it or not," she revealed in a statement, "it’s important that we don’t let our fears get in the way of our enjoyment of the process."
KUČKA's "Ascension" follows on from the subsequent releases of "Real" back in November and her only other song of 2020, "Contemplation" earlier in July, which saw her showcase a more subdued offering of slow burning instrumentals and the domination of her own vocals.
