Irish rap/pop duo Tebi Rex are back with their new single "White Boy of the Month".
One of Ireland's hottest act are coming off the back of a huge debut album The Young Will Eat The Old. This spawned huge singles such as "I Never Got Off The Bus" and "Robbin SZN" as well as headline shows and slots at festivals across Ireland and the UK. After all these highs the boys were hit with a massive low. They were locked in as one of the select few Irish acts set to perform at SXSW this year but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, that was cancelled. This could've been a serious blow to the group but they have taken it and spun it into ammunition to fuel a new wave of music.
"White Boy of the Month" is a product of that wave. Teaming up with one of the hottest producers in the urban sector of music in Ireland, Ill Diam, Tebi Rex are exploring a new sound. The infectious flute sample that leads this record mixed with the trap drums create an interesting backdrop. Max Zanga shows out with two stellar verses that feel reminiscent and current at the same time. Matt then delivers one of his best verses vocally to date as well as an extremely catchy hook that will have you going back and pressing that replay button over and over again.
This track has set the stage for a whole new phase of Tebi Rex music. With hints of another project dropping this summer, this summer is Tebi Rex's for taking.
