Rikshaw is a singer-songwriter from the Dublin suburb of Coolock. Having released the amazing Junk Food EP last year along with a slew of acclaimed singles such as "Feels Like Summer" and "On The Run". Now he returns with his first single of 202o, "Crush."
Rikshaw has worked with a lot of amazing acts from Ireland such as Pat Lagoon, 7th Obi, Awkward Z to name a few. He also is a part of the incredibly stacked Anomaly Sphere roster.
Following the success of his last single "Like That", Rikshaw's return with "Crush" see's a continuation of his fantastic run. He continues showing off his impeccable pen and ear for melodies. The track is produced by the upcoming Irish producer Flash Delivery Guy. The beat is a melodic trap infusion with knocking 808's that have become associated with Flashes style as of late.
Rikshaw has been experimenting with the more melodic style on this recent run of music. The autotune laced vocals on this track create a sense of urgency on the track. The songwriting is amazing as always with the topic of love addressed throughout. Rikshaw's biggest asset to me is his ability to write an amazing hook. This is showcased in spades on this track. The way Rikshaw flows on the beat is super relaxing but also has enough energy to keep your interest.
The synergy between Rikshaw and Flash Delivery Guy makes me think that this could be a duo to fear. The chemistry is abundant on this one and Rikshaw seems more comfortable than he has ever been. With new tracks, visuals and possibly a project in the works, Rikshaw is for sure one to watch in 2020.
