Pearl Gates & Syll debut “Kingz” alongside Blu

New York emcees Pearl Gates and Syll are the newest tag-team to hit the building. The rappers have released material as solo acts before they started working together in 2017 with the release of their first collaborative album entitled Play This. Fast forward to 2019, the duo take it back to the essence of hip-hop as they drop their first single for the year, simply titled "Kingz" featuring veteran west coast lyricist Blu.

Backed by a brooding but cinematic instrumental by producer Corrado, the trio proceed to tear it down with solid bars showing the listener what true lyrical royalty is. The record is densely packed with witty lines, solid rhyme schemes but it's devoid of the usual chorus with only a vocal sample threading the performances together. If you like your hip-hop raw and undiluted, "Kingz" will surely satisfy your urge.
