Burna Boy celebrates Nigerian Independence Day for "Another Story" [Video]

It's October 1, and Burna Boy is honoring 59 years of Nigerian independence. To celebrate, the Afro-fusion artist released his newest music video "Another Story" featuring Ghanaian rapper M.anifest. The video kicks off with the quote, "To understand Nigeria, you need to appreciate where it came from,"paired with a visual with children covered in mask splattered with words representing all of the obstacles Nigerians have overcome fighting colonialism.

"Another Story" is a standout track off of Burna Boy's newest album African Giant. In the music video directed by Clarence Peters, we get a Nigerian history lesson guiding viewers through continuous chaotic revolutionary visuals led by Burna Boy on horseback. Featuring burning cars, kicked-in windshields, and fallen protesters, "Another Story" takes us deep into the reality of fighting for one's independence.

Recognizable Lyrics:

[Hook: Burna Boy]

They wanna tell you o, tell you o, tell you o

Another story o, story o, story o

Since 1960 them dey play us, why o

Shey we go dey cry forever more o

Burna Boy is on the rise to success as one of the most recognizable names in Afro-fusion music. To date, the artist has collaborated with several music veterans including Beyonce, YG and Future and won "Best International Act" at the 2019 BET Awards. Nevertheless, despite his rising worldwide fame, he never forgets to honor his home country of Nigeria.
