Bay area emcee Jared Thurston or Jthurston is out to protect his crown as he leads the parade on his new hard-hitting single titled "King Season". The record which is the focus track of his new full-length project Kngszn sees the East Oakland rapper take the opposition to task with verbal darts over a slamming instrumental. His style is obviously influenced by his hometown but he sure raises the bar by delivering top-notch lyricism alongside his colleague Young Gully who keeps the fiery energy going.
Kngszn is the 5th album from Jthurston which sees him rhyming over a variety of sounds from producers like DJ Fresh, Joyrizer, Fre$h on the Beat, and frequent collaborator Petrofsky. Like the title says, it serves as a reminder that we all should inspire to be kings and queens while challenging us to earn it through perseverance, positivity, and leadership. J is also the front runner for Oakland's local music collective NFK (NewFound Kingdom).
