Chris Lorenzo releases the gloriously retro "Every Morning"

Nostalgia has a place in all music, but its impact in house music, a style that relies heavily on samples from the past, has a uniquely special affect – one that's demonstrated perfectly in Chris Lorenzo's latest track. Entitled "Every Morning," the Birmingham, England-based DJ and producer has taken a break from his Anti Up project to re-up on 90's dance music. Channeling Crystal Waters' classic "Gypsy Woman (She's Homeless)," Lorenzo actually samples the song's original vocals in a completely new way. The influence is there and the homage paid to house music history, keeping the familiarity in tact but not literally transcribing it for 2019.  A feat, indeed, to be able to emulate something so well in an indirect way.
