Matroda and Loge21 have joined forces for the heavy-hitting G-house thumper "Raise Em Up," released on Diplo's Mad Decent imprint.
From the crunchy saws in the drop to the wonky laser shots, all the menacing eccentricity of a Matroda single are present in "Raise Em Up." French duo Loge21's influence is also palpable, especially in the track's hip-hop inspired break. The producers switch to double-time in the break, using quirky horns and expertly-processed drums, complete with the open hi-hats that were popular in 80's and 90's hip-hop. That culminates in the single's second drop, which is cleverly devoid of kickdrums for the first few bars, building tension with rising wobbles before unloading that nasty G-house rhythm again.
