Elder Island has returned with a new animated music video for their latest single, "Kape Fear." The Bristol-based electronic duo released the track ahead of the release of their debut album The Omnitone Collection that was released earlier this year, and now its video finishes the story that the audio started to tell with a video-game inspired narrative of its own.
If listening "Kape Fear" drew up dreams of a moody, top-down cruise into the horizon, its video is that reimagined in an 8-bit, Cruis'n arcade game-inspired landscape. A trio whose creative journey always has the visual in mind – the three met at university while studying graphic design, fine-art and photography – their visuals to "Kape Fear" fall more in tandem than your average electronic video pairing. The video game sequence and emotive, addicting writing and production from singer and cellist Katy, bassist and beat engineer Luke Thornton and guitarist and producer David Havard demonstrates that a holistic approach to music can be what takes its the extra mile.
