In April 2019, Alison Wonderland released her beautiful single "Peace," a brooding pop ballad elucidating her own struggles with depression. "I wrote it to help me find my own closure in something," she said via Twitter. "I don’t feel at peace right now. In fact, I still feel kinda broken. No one gave me closure so I have to do it on my own. Someday, I’ll find peace."
Now, Alison Wonderland, who to friends is Alexandra Sholler, has taken to the studio to record an acoustic version of "Peace." With the help of a full band containing a cellist, keyboardist and two guitarists, the rawness of her heart-wrenching lyrics is undeniably more palpable. The dynamic live performance channels the vulnerability of the original track, and lends credence to its emotional peaks and valleys. Sholler's willingness to wear her heart on her sleeve, evident throughout the entire performance, is one of the many reasons she has such a loyal, fervid fanbase.
Alison Wonderland is currently embarking on an expansive international tour, which you can check out here. It includes EDC Korea, Electric Zoo, and two dates at Denver's famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre, among other noteworthy shows.
