It’s time we highlight some Black Girl Magic! If you haven’t heard the upbeat anthem “One Missed Call” by rising R&B singer PJ, you’re missing out. In addition to the song already circulating 60+ urban radio stations, the music video for “One Missed Call” has racked up over 1.5 million views on YouTube. The colorful visual features a carefree PJ singing possibly one of the most upbeat and danceable songs about an ex. Despite all the positive and well deserved feedback the official music video has received, we are here to give you more. Today EARMILK is proud to premiere the acoustic version of “One Missed Call." Shot in the private setting of Sweet Laurel bakery in Pacific Palisades, PJ gets intimate on this version of the song. PJ’s soothing vocals matched with her vivid emotions will give you chills.

PJ shares with EARMILK that the inspiration for “One Missed Call” came from a quite emotional experience. “My ex. I had a feeling he was up to no good. I had a feeling he was cheating in this situation,” PJ states. However, she explains that with the great success that has accumulated off of this one single, she is happy with the result of what inspired her to make the track. Despite being a shy lady from North Carolina, PJ already has a stacked resume when considering her involvement in the music scene. “One Missed Call” has now peaked at #26 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop chart. The Grammy-nominated songwriter and singer has also contributed to popular singles by some of our favorites in hip-hop like Meek Mill, Wiz Khalifa, and B.o.B. Nevertheless, PJ finally decided it was time for her to become the face of her own music and is doing very well.

For those of us who want more from PJ (and you should), her next project will be dropping this fall alongside a tour before the end of the year.
