Ninajirachi has been on a slow and steady ascent, building blocks of house and bass to construct a steady foundation as an artist to pay attention to. The Sydney-based DJ has a head-turning eclectic perspective in her production, as well as in her mixing abilities. The former is on display for the strongest original release she's put out so far, a two-sided EP Water Gun / Stingray. Out now via Nina Las Vegas's NLV Records, the release has two well-rounded showings each intriguing and surprising in their own right.
"Water Gun" veers from quirky progressions to a tribal techno thump, and the jackin' "Stingray" is an up front, avant-garde level edgy take on bass. With both tracks' names and production elements also calling on nature, Ninajirachi is carving a space of her own in a crowded field. This release is now streaming and available on Beatport.
