Hailing from Halifax on Canada’s east coast, Alex Walsh (AWAL) and Jarrett MacNeil aka Cloverdale are making big moves with their latest EP entitled Talk To Me released on Dr. Fresch’s label, The Prescription Records.
This is the boys’ first release on The Prescription Records, and to celebrate they’ve put together a great promo video with the help of some friends. Check it out below.
The title track, “Talk To Me” opens things up with hard bass house sounds and huge drops, and is a testament to their ability to throw tf down. Keeping the energy levels high with distorted vocals and tantalizing hi-hats, “Fun Chungus” is sure to go off on the club and festival circuit.
Next up “Watchu Wanna Do” boasts big grooves and an even bigger bassline. “Dangerous” closes things out with a darker feel and and some dubstep influences. Is that you AWAL?
After a string of singles, remixes and re-works over the last year, Talk To Me skillfully showcases Cloverdale’s versatility, treading the line between bass house and tech house all while including some bass accents to create a refreshingly unique and forward-thinking brand of house music that is their own.
With the release of their EP and a really exciting feature in DJ MAG as artists to watch, July has already been a huge month for Cloverdale. Joining BIJOU, Jacknife, LeKtrique and Neon Steve on the Prescription Records roster, and receiving support from artists like Botnek, Wongo and of course, Dr. Fresch, these maple leafs are on the rise. EARMILK seconds DJ MAG’s account that they are certainly ones to watch.
