Hip-hop legend Sadat X (of Brand Nubian fame) teams up with the Lo-Life general Thirstin Howl The 3rd on a new collaborative project titled 'The God And The General, '. The first leak of said project is the laid-back gritty gem simply titled "Eat These Bars"
"Eat These Bars" was produced by 3 Ways and Anger Bangers and it's split into two distinct parts. The first section is a synth-driven, gloomy beat that fits Thirstin Howl's gruff style and off-the-cuff lyrics. The second half switches to a cinematic piano-driven soundscape allowing Sadat X to flex his veteran muscles over naysayers and then some. The visual is directed by Thirstin Howl himself (with help from 3ways and John Marton) and aims to show the duo in their respective element. It starts with Thirstin Howl going through his daily physical regiment for the day alongside heavyweight boxing champion, Shannon Briggs who acts as his coach. The second half of the song takes us on a journey with Sadat X as he sits to have a nice meal as he shares with us some hot takes.
"Eat These Bars" is one of the new tracks from the full-length collaboration project, The God And The General, which will be available for digital purchase on Thirstin Howl's website. The project is a collection of new material as well as unreleased collaborations between the duo. Guests include Kool Keith, Spit Gemz, DV Alias Khrist, RA The Rugged Man, Rack-Lo, Shabaam Sahdeeq and more.
