Jackie Venson bathes in the colours of "Joy" [Video]

There are many colours to life, with each representing how we look, how we think, but mostly- how we feel. Much like in music, the colour spectrum is long and detailed, but there are times where it drops subtlety and screams out loud. Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jackie Venson's latest single "Joy" is just that- emphatically loud. To match its boisterous energy, the official video is splashed with vivid colour, screaming out Venson's determined emotions.

Flipping through a spectrum of greens, blues, and pinks, the video's roaring climax is found in the song's hook, where Venson decidedly proclaims "I choose joy" in a burst of yellow. Throughout scenes of struggle with a failed relationship and nighttime pills, Venson keeps a smile on, powerfully exhibiting her unfazed reaction to strife. Sharing her thoughts on the track itself, Venson explains that "My joy comes from inspiration, to create special experiences and sounds and bring them to life. Whenever I am able to express and exhibit these creations, all of my pain melts away and I am existing completely in my element. "

Though more tame than her debut last year with "Transcends", Venson's Joy album showcases a different side to the Texas artist. A side with a name baked right into the title. A side that above all else, brings Venson and those around her pure joy.
