Dark future pop duo Lynda dwell on escapism in new single "Maria"

Lynda is a duo made up of  Welsh/Algerian musicians  Russ and Youcef who met while working at American Apparel in London. Once they found out that they had similar tastes in music they started collaborating and the new single "Maria" is as a result of that. The dark future pop record blends the old and the new with its 80s pop and nu-wave aesthetics from airy vocals and layered synth-driven dreamy textures. The song itself tells the story about a young girl who is caught between conservative home life and another where she finds her freedom through dance and intimacy with her friend.

"Maria" is their follow up single to their debut "100 Degrees" and they are currently preparing to release their debut album 'Blue Beams'. The duo started their musical journey just 2 years ago and their earlier release "UFO" was featured in the hit Japanese Netflix show Terrace House.
