Less than two weeks after releasing a new single and video called “KYST,” Maryland MC K.A.A.N. is right back at it with a new song called “Honest.” K.A.A.N is in his element here as he blends top-notch lyricism, flows, and storytelling over a soulful/nostalgic instrumental. He opts for a long verse taking ample time to give the listener more insight into his struggles and how he rose above the water. Overall its a nod to the essence of hip hop as an art form.
The visual that comes with the song also drives that point home, literally following K.A.A.N. as he recaps his journey on the way to secure a bag. “Honest” is taken from his latest full-length project Gathering, an 18-track masterpiece he created with a pair of prolific producers Dem Jointz and Blev.
