The once "smoking in the Tahoe, that's what we did back when we were all in Colorado" native, now Los Angeles based rapper, producer, singer, and artist, Alec King has been captivating listeners with all too relatable lyrics where he touches on love, lust and life with ease. In his latest 6-track EP Greatest Hits Vol. 1, released via Republic Records, King "Keep[s] It Real" along with a little help from Rich The Kid.

The EP starts out honest with "Never Write A Song About You," that ironically speaks to a breakup and missing that other person, while pettily trying to get over them. King playfully gives light to struggling with the current situation like his "stale budget," while expertly incorporating guitars, harps and a chopped and screwed section.

One of the next favorites, "Keep It Real," actually comes as a re-release and is about exactly what you would think, not flexing. King adds hilariously relatable lines like "shout out to the girls who don't care if you work at Starbucks," and also ads Rich The Kid to this version for the EP. Whether or not this version is better than the OG one …I will let you decide.

Other tracks like "Vinny Chase," "For Love" and "Feel Again" sit a little more surface level and take a hit at the hook-up culture and late nights that accompany it, demonstrating what one would do for love. However each beat effortlessly blends into the lyrics and leaves the melodies implanted in your head for days to come.
