“New Experience” starts with a slow and steady build. It’s the sonic version of parting the beaded curtains in the back of a bodega, unsure what awaits you on the other side. But you’re curious, drawn to those synths like a cartoon character floating towards a freshly baked pie. So, you press on. Suddenly, the drums begin to get more complex. The synths, no longer playing alone, are now dancing alongside wayward guitar licks. And then finally, crashing into the scene like an 80’s pop star, you stumble on Guest Singer.
Guest Singer sounds like an homage to the 80s. But, that’s not a bad thing. He does the sound well. In “New Experience” he’s created an anthemic, synth-driven tune that is sure to get caught in your brain for days to come.
Guest Singer’s bio on SoundCloud says on, “#ImIrrelevant.” Hard to argue with the facts when the dude only has 21 followers and not quite 2,000 plays on his only song. However, that won’t last long. If “New Experience” is any indication of the talent this Doncaster-residing act possesses, he’ll be relevant soon.
