2017 was quite a year for Sheffield-based DJ and producer Cloonee with his debut EP on Elrow going straight into the Beatport tech house top 10. Now, the tech house aficionado has surged forward with his first release off of Repopulate Mars aptly titled "Gospel".
An immediate no-nonsense tumultuous journey, "Gospel" is teeming with slick darkness, snarling bass driving the track forward. With climatic buildups and smooth tribal percussions, the ethereal gospel chorus is illuminated and adds a sense of intriguing holiness to the otherwise mystic song. Clooney's use of the catchy vocal samples makes for a unique track with its heavy stuttering emphasis, truly remarkable in building up ample hype for any dance floor.
