JHart has been writing hit songs for several artists for years. He now debuts as a solo artist with "Put It To Bed," off his forthcoming album Vol 1—Songs from Therapy.
"Put It To Bed" has lyrics that pack more of a punch than most pop tunes of the day and soulful vocal acrobatics that could give Sam Smith a run for his money. It's wickedly catchy and uber-sexy. The video only fuels the fire of the track: set in a futurist society, it sees JHart participating in a virtual reality therapy session which allows him to move seamlessly between genders. Of the video, JHart says:
I brainstormed pretty tirelessly with my creative director, Chuck, and the producer, Brett, about how to make the vision for this video something not so obvious. We came across a quote in a psychology piece about ‘The Miracle Question’ and different versions of it that helped patients in therapy resolve their issues by looking at their problems from a secondary perspective, put a slight Black Mirror twist on the idea and the video concept was born. I'm beyond grateful to anyone who has helped in the execution of this video.
The video was directed by Chuck David Willis and solidifies JHart's position as a major player in pop in the years to come.
