Hottrax, the label offshoot from Hot Creations boss Jamie Jones, is an underground-oriented label dedicated to showcasing the darker side of house and all its variations. Since the first release in 2012, the imprint has provided music from the likes of Davina, Kevin Knapp, Patrick Topping and wAFF – with the next EP incoming via UK House duo, Waze & Odyssey.
Charting releases on Edible, Circus Recordings, Elrow and their very own W&O Street Tracks, Waze & Odyssey have been figureheads in the dance scene since the release of their first track, "Ah Baby (Here We Go Again)" back in 2012. Although their sound has developed and evolved over the years, the pairs ability to break down boundaries and create a unique, signature sound, fusing old and new, has never wavered.
The Shape EP kicks off with the title track. A bumping bassline and hi-hats teamed with spacey-sounding pads weave together to create a house track that builds and progresses perfectly for peak time – but "Shape" definitely wouldn't feel out of place at the start or close of a set. London based No Rules provide their rework, morphing "Shape" into a stripped back deep house cut, perfect for the darker and more intimate club times in the early hours.
