It's July 2018 and by default, feels like time for new music from Flamingosis. The Brooklyn and New Jersey-based artist has made himself the king of chill, jazzy grooves by releasing at least one long form release each year since 2015, and his last, A Groovy Thing, is nearly a year old.
Just in time to celebrate his last album's anniversary he's back, delivering a new single entitled "Flight Fantastic." This time teaming up with fellow Brooklyn producer Birocratic, Flamingosis has taken his signature summery style and pointed it forward toward the future. While still using 70's and 80's-inspired disco elements, the team cooked up a heavier – at times wobbly – beat that is almost similar to that of Pretty Lights or Gramatik. But its sampling of vocals channeling bossa nova and carefree piano chords keep it truly a Flamingosis production.
Flamingosis's new album is due out July 31st and will feature additional collaborations from Tokyo Megaplex and The Kount.
