Budding rapper and singer Shuga Rae recruits Oh No to craft a quirky but smooth hip-hop new single "Bang."
The California born rapper is back in her old stomping grounds after a sojourn in Atlanta. Determined to take on the industry she unleashes her newest salvo aptly titled "Bang". Her syrupy flow cascades the mellow, somewhat cinematic backdrop (made courtesy of producer Oh No) as she delivers her lines effortlessly. She blends graphic images with self-confidence laced with that classic west-coast swagger reminiscent of Yo-Yo and a mild Lady of Rage. The track also gets some boosts from Glasses Malone who wraps it up with his usual braggadocio self.
Upon graduating from Spelman College in 2008 (with a BA degree in Psychology), Shuga Rae left Atlanta and returned to California with a goal to craft her entertainment career while utilizing her skills in writing and language therapy. Shuga Rae believes that Hip Hop music stimulates the consciousness of the community. Through her newly created “Rap Therapy”, Shuga Rae assists children with speech/language disorders. Her hope is to show young children that all dreams are achievable through faith and determination.
