At the end of April, we were blessed by the return of L.A. based band The Internet. Their single "Roll! (Burbank Funk)" was a funk-filled track that gave you weekend roller rink vibes. With their return, we couldn't help but excitedly begin to think their next album was well on its way. We were correct!
The Internet's 4th album Hive Mind is coming July 20th, and they announced the new album and release date by premiering their new single "Come Over" with Zane Lowe on Beats1 today.
"Come Over" is a guitar and bass heavy, smooth groove that features Syd crooning about wanting to come over for a little rendezvous. At the end of the track, we get a switch up that is more synth-based and features vocals from Steve Lacy.
From these two singles, it's easy to gather that this album is going to be a funktastic journey that just may be the soundtrack for Summer 2018. Look for Hive Mind July 2018.
